Colostrum replacement for newborn foals
Newborn foals do not yet have their own antibodies to protect them against infections. These are only produced in sufficient quantities after approximately 3 to 5 weeks. Until then, the foal relies on antibodies obtained from colostrum (first milk).
If the mare produces no colostrum or an insufficient amount, it is essential to act quickly. Antibodies can only pass through the intestinal wall during the first day after birth. Absorption is very effective during the first 12 hours, but after 24 hours the foal can absorb very few antibodies.
Pavo Colostrum has been specially developed to provide support in situations where a foal does not receive enough colostrum from its dam.

Brugsinstruktion:
Hvis føllet nægter at få råmælk, kan du stimulere dets appetit ved at smøre lidt sukker på dets tunge. Tving ikke føllet til at spise ved at bøje hovedet bagover. Føllet vil ikke være i stand til at synke godt, og der er risiko for, at mælken kommer ind i lungerne. Giv ikke mere end 500 ml Colostrum pr. time. For stort indtag kan føre til tarmforstyrrelser. Vær opmærksom på hygiejnen. Tilbered mælken med rene hænder, og skyl sut, flaske og drikkekopper godt efter brug.
